We are pleased to inform you that during the Monday session of the CUE Senate, on December 14, 2020, the members and the chairman of the University Council for the 2021-2024 term were elected. The new University Council will include the following people: from outside the university community - Tomasz Brzostowski, Katarzyna Cymerman and Piotr Ziętara; elected by the CUE Senate from within the CUE community were - dr. hab. inż. Andrzej Chochół, prof. UEK, prof. dr. hab. Krzysztof Surówka and prof. dr. hab. Jan W. Wiktor.

Below we present brief introductions to the members of the CUE University Council for the 2021-2024 term:

• Tomasz Brzostowski- a graduate of the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Vice President, Modern Business Services, Hitachi Vantara. Responsible for the operations of their business centers in Krakow, Kuala Lumpur, and Hyderabad (India). Chartered accountant (ACCA) and certified internal auditor (CIA).
  
  
• Dr. Hab. Andrzej Chochół- associated with the AE since 1982, (subsequently the University of Economics in Krakow) in the Department of Industrial Merchandise Science. CUE Rector for two terms (2012-2020), in 2002-2008 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Merchandise Science, and subsequently Vice-Rector for Student Affairs until 2012. For four years he was the chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Economic Universities within the structure of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP). He is currently head of the Department of Study of Measures and Instrumental Analysis, and a member of the Scientific Council of the University of Economics in Bratislava, and the presidium of the KRASP.
  
  
• Katarzyna Cymerman - a graduate of psychology from the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. Professionally associated with Microsoft, where she has been the HR Director of the Polish branch of the company since January 2019. Winner of the global “Circle of Excellence” award. She has extensive experience in human capital management.
  
  
• Dr. Hab. Krzysztof Surówka- associated with CUE since 1978. In the years 2002-2005 he was the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance, and then its Dean (2005-2012). In 2012-2020, he was Vice-Rector for Education and Students, and then Vice-Rector for Communication and Cooperation. Durign the priod of 1993-2016, he was a researcher at the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Health Sciences. Since 2016, he has been head of the Department of Public Finance. He has worked with the business community as a member of the College of the Regional Audit Chamber in Krakow in 1993-2020. He is a BAS expert, and from August 2020 a member of the Supervisory Board of Arena Krakow, SA.
  
  
• Dr. Hab. Jan W. Wiktor- a graduate of the Cracow University of Economics in the field of Trade Economics. Head of the Marketing Department at the College of Management and Quality Sciences. He was, inter alia, Dean of the Faculty of Management, and member of the Senate for several terms, as well as being Chairman of the Program Council of Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Management, and chairman of the CUE Program Council of the Małopolska School of Public Administration. He has been a member of the Committees on Organization and Management and on Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2011, and was a member and deputy chairman of the first University Council.
  
  
• Piotr Ziętara- a graduate of the CUE Faculty of Management, a graduate of the MBA program organized by CUE’s KSB. President of the Management Board of the Municipal Water and Sewage Company of the City of Krakow since April 1, 2017. Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Małopolska Water Cluster, and chairman of the first CUE University Council.

The newly elected University Council began its term on January 1, 2021. Mr. Piotr Ziętara - President of the Board of the Municipal Water and Sewage Company of the City of Krakow was again elected as its Chairman. We congratulate all the newly elected members and wish them fruitful work for our University.
