Zaproszenie na Wykład Rektorski prof. Jima McKinley’a
Zapraszamy na pierwszy w tym roku akademickim Wykład Rektorski, który w czwartek 23 listopada 2023 r. wygłosi prof. Jim McKinley – członek Centrum Studiów nad Szkolnictwem Wyższym UCL, stypendysta programu im. Stanisława Ulama (Narodowa Agencja Wymiany Akademickiej) w Katedrze Analiz Strategicznych Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Krakowie oraz honorowy pracownik naukowy w Uniwersytecie Oksfordzkim.
Spotkanie odbędzie się 23 listopada 2023 r. o godz. 11:30 w Starej Auli, w Budynku Głównym UEK. Wykład wygłoszony zostanie w języku angielskim. Poruszony zostanie temat: „International perspectives on post-Brexit higher education reforms: Can students and academic staff help recover the ‘holistic academy’?”

Professor Jim McKinley (University College London) is a member of the UCL Centre for Higher Education Studies, a NAWA Ulam Fellow in the Dept. of Strategic Analysis at the Krakow University of Economics, and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Dept. of Education at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the intersection of applied linguistics and the internationalisation of higher education, targeting implications of globalisation for second language (academic and scholarly) writing, English medium instruction, and the teaching-research nexus in higher education. Jim has published in many leading journals in higher education (including Higher Education, Studies in Higher Education, and Teaching in Higher Education) and applied linguistics, and he is an editor and author of several books on research methods. He is an Editor-in-Chief of the journal System (Elsevier, ranked 5th of 194 linguistics journals) and co-editor of the ‘Cambridge Elements’ series Language Teaching, published by Cambridge University Press.
